Re: WATER LEVEL
From the web cams it looks like the water is starting to come down a bit.

Re: WATER LEVEL
I hope the lake comes down enough to get under the bridge with a pontoon boat

Re: WATER LEVEL
We were at the lake for the last 6 days. During that time the water level droped 14 inches. But is is still about 3 feet higher than is would normally be in August. Hope that gives some of you8 folks an idea of what to expect.
.
I wish there was a measuring stick out in the water and visable in one of the web cams so we can understand better.

Re: WATER LEVEL
It looks like the lake has come down to somewhat normal by the upper bay cam. Can you get under the bridge now by boat?

Re: WATER LEVEL
Not really - the dam breaking only means the water behind it, in Heuvelton, lowered to the flow of the "natural" river.492VS wrote:Will this have an effect on lake level?

It's an interesting sight.
Anyways the Oswegatchie's "natural" flow is not interrupted at his point. No power being generated at Heuvelton though.
We did have a member on here that operated/supervised the power plant at Ogdensburg, maybe he will check in and lend some information about the river flow.

Re: WATER LEVEL
Water was down a ton. Pontoons were traveling under the bridge no problem. When I left the water, someone was moving the state launch dock out more because it was so high above the water line and kinda useless. However, regardless of the water level, quantity of biting fish, and/or anything else, ...I fished for four hours in the middle of the day with nothing but some bluegill and perch to show for it...but didn't care. How can anyone not just enjoy sitting on their boat under the sun relaxing and casting a rod. I would say...it was a little bit of paradise. Here is a pic of Yesterday.
