Re: Water Levels
I would say that the extreme variation would be 6-8 ft. Maybe not that much in any one year though.ranger617 wrote:I'm new to Black Lake and was really surprised at how high the water levels were in October. In any given year, how much does the lake water levels fluctuate? I had heard 6-8 ft?
I grew up living on the Hudson River where we had daily tidal changes of nearly 5 ft.
I was also surprised at how rough the lake gets. But when it's calm, it's spectacular!
Anybody looking for a small (15ft) sailboat, let me know.
Rough? I've seen what seemed like 8 ft rollers coming into the causeway at Edwardsville, when the wind was right. Nothing I would want to be out in; but that's extreme.
