Black Lake History

Post by RizzS » Fri Feb 11, 2011 4:12 pm

We are new to the area, just last summer we purchased a cottage on the lake. Can't wait to spend more time on the water. I am wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a book on the history of Black Lake.

Welcome RizzS,
I'm new to the area as well. Arrived here four years ago and also was interested in the history of the area. So far I've found two books both published by Arcadia Publishing. They can be reached at 888-313-2665 or by e-mail at sales@arcadiapublishing.com or website www.arcadiapublishing.com. They are titled "Images of America - Around Oswegatchie" and "Images of America St. Lawrence County". Both books consist of photographs with captions but no other text. Nevertheless I found them very interesting. Hope you enjoy both the books and Black Lake.

Here's a site I found that has some history or Rosie and Black Lake.

blacklakenymap.info references and/or links to some of the site above.

Just want to thank those who posted history info. Going to the library/book store soon. Also will try looking in area libraries.
