Water Level

Post by sasnyder » Mon Mar 14, 2011 10:39 am

Looks like the folks at web cam 2 are losing thier lawn. This is the first time time I have seen the water level this high. I'm sure it is not the first time.
How do you think this will effect the fishing?

Pretty common water level for this time of year. Flushes the lake. :D

Did the fall high lake level ever recede or is the lake still high? We weren't able to get some of the docks out last year til Nov.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's my understanding that the water level really doesn't rise in the spring so much as the weight of the ice on the water brings the level up. As the ice melts the water level will drop back to normal levels. Assuming there's no unusual amount of precipitation of course.

Springtime is generally higher precipitation and along with the other run-off in the Indian River Chain of lakes and it's watershed, the lake will rise to it's highest levels of the year (usually).
