Re: Ice out??
I would not bet on April 1st - prolly by the 15th.
As long as it's gone for the opener of pike in May, I'll be happy.

Yep - been that way for a while there. The upper lake has no to very little open water. Hope to see that change soon.

It was beautiful today. It was in the 40's. Do you mean to tell me that there really is that much ice still on the lake? That is so depressing. I just got my boat out of storage yesterday, hoping to go fishing soon.

Some kind of "trash"? Maybe styrofoam?johncran wrote:What are those white things floating in the water on the big bay cam?
Anyways - ice-out is not far away. If you look at the south end cam you can see a bit of open water "creeping" into few on the right/upper edge of the image Won't be long before the walleye start in on their annual performance.

Re: Ice out??
The white objects may also be chunks of ice that have broken off and drifted near the shore. Lets hope they arn't trash. You guys are doing a good job keeping track of the ice and it's impending demise. Keep up the good work as I am able to know when the ice goes out and the Walleyes begin their annual run up to Rossie. Catch & Release !

Re: Ice out??
Our camp neighbors were up about a week or so ago and said the ice was melted from the shores in the narrows. The water level was up but not unusually high for this time of year.

Re: Ice out??
The two cams really show whats going on in different parts of the lake. Would be great if they positioned one somewhere North pointing toward the Bridge area. Possibly along the shore adjacent to Woods Island or maybe near the Log Cabins would be good. How much longer do you guys figure it will be until total ice out and the Walleye run to start ? Catch & Release !
