August this year could have less weed growth than normal if the water stays up and there continues to be a good flow of water through the lake. This could also limit the annual algae bloom, where the water seems to be stagnant and a pea soup green. The largemouth and panfish fishing should still be good on shoals and weedlines. You may be able fish the shallows easier than you normally would. If the water is green when you get here, look for clearer water and throw soft plastics and topwaters early and late. The smallmouth usually bite better in August especially in the evening hours on crayfish and topwaters.

Have fun and enjoy the lake.
Give a starving man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
