So where was this monster caught? NY? Is it a Tiger? Tough to tell from the PIC.
Got any measurements?

I heard of a 46-48 inch muskie being caught Saturday in front of Black Lake Marine baitshop. Would this be a picture of that fish?

Not surprising to me . While we were at the lake in July my son-in-law and i were bass fishing and he caught a 14 3/4" small mouth and a monster fish grabbed it and held on for awhile but we couldnt get it to the boat. It was a musky i don't know how we would have landed it our net wouldn't have been big enough. The smallie had teeth marks on it. It was pertty exciting while it lasted. I know they look bigger in the water but my guess would have been over 4 foot.

Confirmed: Aproximately 50 inch 35 lb musky caught 20 feet from shore in front of Black Lake Marine baitshop as per store employee.

Is the Black Lake Marine in the north end by Lake Side Marine and Treasures? The store is right next to the road?

Erik,
How deep is the water there? Is it shallow like most of the north end?

It's pretty shallow. My dock goes out 76' and i'm still at 3 1/2 feet on average at the end. You know how the water fluctuates so when the water goes down you need to keep the motor trimmed up when heading out!

Even if released, this fish has been stressed by capture and has skin, scale and slimecoat damage from the freezing snow all over it and has a low chance of survival. Next time hold the fish supporting all of its weight for a quick photo then back down the hole!
