Mercury Quick Care Fuel Treatment

Post by sekotsjds » Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:21 pm

Hello. Well, I finally got my boat out yesterday on Lake Ontario. I accidentally added 10 OZ (whole bottle) of Mercury Quick Care Fuel Treatment to my gas tank. Anyone know if this will be an issue? I have it added to a 37 gallon tank and it is a 2012 Mercury Optimax 150 (2 Stroke)? You are supposed to add 1 OZ to every 10 gallons and the bottle I added was 10 OZ. That equates to roughly double treatment plus and OZ or two. I really dread draining some of the gas out but wanted to see if anyone knew. I called a few Mercury dealers and they all were unsure but thought I was fine to run the motor. I appreciate any advice/answers! I cannot find anything on the Mercury site nor the rest of the web. Thanks.

I think you just wasted a little money thats all. Most fuel treatments and additives are fairly expensive.

I agree. I just want to make sure I do not screw up my motor. I am not too knowledgeable about motors so wanted to make sure. Thanks for the feedback!
