Water clarity
Hello all,
During the week of May 12-19, my group of anglers will be coming to Black Lake for the first time. So as to better prepare for our trip, we were curious as to the water clarity at Black Lake during this time of year. I had thought I saw somewhere that during spring, the water is slightly stained, with visibility of about 5 to 6 feet. Is this accurate?
thanks for the help!

Re: Water clarity
IMO - Black Lake water is "stained" as you describe - year round. Sometimes it is "cloudy" in areas and that can vary depending on many things. In July and August it can have a LOT of algae and be "green".
Good luck with your trip and welcome to our discussion board.

Re: Water clarity
Black Lake is a dark water, highly eutrophic lake. Adjust accordingly.

Re: Water clarity
thanks for the info. Hopefully that wont be too big of an issue given how early it is in the season.
