Nope not heavy yet, but within the last two weeks and with the 1 foot drop in water level weeds are now on the surface and spreading out.

Opening day set ups???? I set up four poles and won't be on the water until about 1pm till dark....damn job. 2 mojo bass rods, president fishing reels, fluorocarbon line preceded by lots of suffix cheaper line....one powerpro set up and one for an up to 12 foot crank bait. Fat baby craw on a Mustad 5/0 hook, ....another is a 6.5" gary yamamoto kut tail worm (green pumpkin with black flake)....another has a nickel blade spinner with a red and black football jig accompanied by a 4" watermelon red flake two tale grub. Honestly...what do you all think and what are your set ups?

Re: bass season
Finally made it on the water around 1:30pm. What a rough time of day to be fishing for bass on such a perfect but hot afternoon. I soo wish I could have done the morning fish. Oh well, it was fun and fish were caught...especially after 6pm....to bad once they started biting good that time becomes limited when your goal is getting off the water by dark. Everything ran great and fun was had....and funtimes lost another perch lure to black lake, but at least this time...it was to a nice bass and not those lure stealing trees.....lol......thanks for going with me Funtimes.

Re: bass season
Couldn't agree more. Today I went with my oldest son....quality time that we will always have. Stories of the big bass that I got to the side of the boat only to lose him right as my sons hand was reaching for him. Or the conversation while floating eating lunch under the beautiful sunny skies. Or switching poles and lures with him after I caught four.....hoping he would be lucky too....only to have his first cast turn into a huge messy knot of line that needed to be cut......memories....black lake makes them. I am so lucky to live within 30 minutes of it.
