Mark Zona and Gerald Swindle - Black Lake Trip
I was watching Zona's show this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised to see them fishing the lake.

Yes I watched it too...seems most if not all of their fishing was at the southern end of the lake. I recognized a lot of the places they fished

Very cool, was it an entire show on Black Lake a just a few segments? I couldn't find it on MarkZona.com. Not sure if its gone or I just can't find it.

It was an entire show with Zona and Swindled approached from an angle of "its a working mans lake". By that I believe they were referring to the fact that they were catching a pile of bass in the 1.5 to 3 lb. range and they were having a riot catching a load of fish rather than a couple large fish. My interpretation anyways...

I've been coming to the lake for a long time and get a little bothered by the bigger bass I've seen being harvested. there would definitely be more bigger fish to catch AND release if some sort of slot limit was put in place. 12-15" would be nice. Anything smaller or bigger put back period.

So do a lot of people .... but it seems nobody (including myself) has figured out how to actually do something about it.Bob-O wrote:I agree 100%

I agree with a slot limit. There seems to be fewer large bass each year. I've send several letters and e-mails to the DEC in the past. I never get a response.
