walleye spawn in rossie

any ideas when the walleye should start spawning. the kids love to see them each year.

That's a good question - I would put it at least two weeks out. This weather and ice is definitely playing a big role this year. I understand that the walleye spawn is driven by both water temp and hours of daylight. Definitely a chance for a poor run this year.

i stopped in Rossie yesterday to check the walleye run. the DEC is there and so are the fish. the officer said that they were hard to see because of the amount of water. even at night its very difficult to see them. i thought i would post an update so anyone thinking of going to see the walleye will have an idea on what to expect.

Stopped there yesterday. Couldn't see any. Probably because of the high water flow. DEC still there.
