The rain and the rest of the snow melt. Should be receding soon.

My brother and I were up to check on our camp when the water had crested. The losses and damage to property we're awful. As we were driving home on the road from Edwardsville to Hammond, We saw how far south the water had gone from the end of the lake to Hammond. It was an education in geography. I don't know exactly how high the water level got. Say it was 15'. The lake doubled in size! The flooded wetlands extended to a mile from Hammond. Look on a topo map and you can see how the lake has filled in over the last 12000 years. 15' of water showed you what that meant as to the lakes size just after the glaciers receded. Our camp is on Fish Creek. That easily doubled in size. We almost lost our pump house. Our dock was floating in the yard next to the cottage. It leaves you with a lot of respect for the water
