Water Level

Besides the web cam shots of the expanding lake we also viewed several pix on the Black Lake Facebook page. Yikes! Hope someone can keep us updated throughout the next few days. I'd sure like to come up there this month rather than in June but don't want to be pumping out the basement or garage. Hate seeing the landscape lights disappearing beneath the water on the Back Bay web cam...Mother Nature! What can you do? Good luck to all....

I got to be thinking that with the Oswegatchie river at peak levels, the lake is filling from both ends! Not especially a good thing. Hopefully runoff is beginning to subside. Keep the rain away for a while.

Leaving my place Tuesday before the water level rose another 2+feet. Webcams show the stairs to the docks at back bay campgrounds under water. Other webcam flag pole in water. Levels are higher than I have ever seen them.

Hey 492VS that will be the last time you will be able to drive your camp for a while there is four foot of water on the road now, and it looks like the water is still coming up.

Just make sure you get your dock in early and keep dragging the canoe up the hill as the water rises. I'll rent a slip from you!

Would it be possible for someone to post a pic or two from the state launch looking at the camps on the Edwardsville side? Would like to see how close the water is to the camps.

I've been checking out all the pics on the black lake Facebook page. Craziness. Hope the water goes down ASAP for all those affected :!: :!:

Ice & Flooding Update

Made it up to the lake to check out my camp. Lots of flooding just about everywhere. Many camps along the lake shore road are flooded out. In A few areas the water comes almost up to the road. Low areas are most affected with flooding. I have never seen it so high. Fortunetly my camp was on high enough ground to be safe. Still plenty of ice around and starting to break up. Looking forward to the seasonal opening in a few weeks. Catch & Release

Check the Black Lake Facebook page ... lots of pics.

I was up at my cottage last weekend. The walk-out docks at the public launch were complete under water. There is less than a foot of clearance right now underneath the Edwardsville bridge.

Its crazy!

Phil,

Thanks for trying. Boy, a shot 90 degrees to the left of what you took would have been perfect. The last time I was there with the water anywhere near this high, we were able to pull up and step out onto the wall at the launch and the water was lower then. Looks as if there is going to be considerable damage around the lake for anyone who isn't on higher ground. Let's hope it starts dropping.
