Not trying to be funny here as this is really devastating to the owners but about 6 more inches and it looks like I could launch from the asphalt and not even need the ramp.

Ouch!!

I only wanted the water about 1' higher than last summer, this is just insane!

Out of curiosity, is this the highest it's ever been...aka 100yr flood??

Are you saying it is higher than it was last June?

Not a 100 year high - I recall the water being over the road, in one area, in the late 70s. It's getting close. Hopefully it starts receding soon. Lots of damage to homes, cottages and other property.

Last August I was completely off the concrete pad with my tandem trailer and on the lake bed when trying to launch my 20' I/O. I had to tilt my engine all the way up to avoid plowing the lake bed with my prop coming into the launch. All of the metal retaining wall was exposed and there was about a 1' gap between the bottom of the retaining wall and the lake surface. It was the lowest I've seen it in the short time I've been coming up - approximately 6 years now.

If it had been any lower, I think my pickup would have been in the mud to launch my boat, if I was able to launch at all.

It wasn't fun last year but I don't wish this flooding on anyone either. Maybe it can find a happy medium where its up a foot or two over last summer - I'd be happy with that!

Phil,

I assume the high water level will affect/delay the walleye run this year right?!? I saw pictures from our place, the rapids are raging right now.

It's all about water temperature. This cold weather should slow down the water flows, a bit. I have not heard anything about the walleye at Rossie but suspect they are there, or very close to starting.

Lake level looks to be receding a little. Other streams and rivers in the area fell quite a bit over night. Hope the best for all those affected by the flooding.

Water level is way down based on webcam 1. A visual inspection from the "shore" indicates our place was spared by inches from the water. Our storage shed did take in several inches of water but if that's as bad as it gets we'll take it.

Hopefully many others were spared from the flooding.

BTW, we know someone that has recently purchased a barge for transporting large\bulky items on the lake. If anyone needs such a service let me know and I will try and get you some contact information.

It rained all day Sunday hard. It was coming up when I left then. So yeah it has come back up. Not too significantly but enough to slow the receding process down that's for sure.
