This is a great post!

It proves that with the right combination of timing, weather, and technique .... this lake can out-produce just about any other lake! It truly is an amazing fishery.

Its sad to hear about all the bass being kept though. That certainly is a problem.

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time. Black lake is a great fishery. However, when you see people overfishing the limit or throwing back dead fish and parts etc you ought to report it to the Dec. Their number is readily available for reporting things like this. Protecting the fishery and obeying the laws is highly important. Those people who abuse the laws should be held accountable. Catch & Release

Nice fish, I was just about to downsize my topwater baits but after this post nope, going with the larger sized ones still. Honestly I'm no cupcake but how can you have not have raw thumbs after a week like that.

thumbs were raw till end of week, that's a good sign you had a great week.we throw the 3 1/2" chugbugs, chrome and blue.they wanted it real slow long pauses between pops.

Great report and thanks for posting pics.
You guys from Pottstown?

I was looking into pond management for a friend. Harvesting bass, and other fish, is needed for a health pond. BL is much larger than a pond, but maybe some harvesting is good, or at least not something to get too concerned over.
What helps BL are the weeds that protect fry and even keep the fishing down to a roar during late summer.
I have been wanting to fry up a catch, but never seem to get it done during the last 5 years.
One day maybe. A nice fish is hard to kill, and the little ones are out of the question.
Oh well.....
