Just a tip to all who will be visiting Black Lake this season. First and right now there is no legal fishing for Bass. Catching them while Pike fishing is unavoidable and must be released immediately. The season will open this coming Saturday, June 20. The minimum size is 15 inches at Black Lake. Crappie size is 9 inches to be legal. Knowing and following the rules as they apply to Black Lake is every Fisherman's responsibility. True Sportsmanship only comes by playing by the rules. Catch & Release!!

Do you think it be a good idea for all fish cleaning stations on the lake to post the legal size for all game fish caught? I would think the camp owners would want to do whatever is best for the lake, since they depend on it for their survival.
The second amendment is in place, in case THEY decide to ignore all the others.

I agree with you that the rules and regs should be posted at all Rental sites. The problem though is that the owners more than likely won't try to enforce the rules as it is not their responsibility. Not only would it be detrimental to their business but they rely on their renters to make a living. Another problem is that there is a shortage of DEC personnel and they are few & far between. Reporting violations and constantly reminding visitors of the rules and regs appear to be the about the only thing we can do to keep things in check. If a few of the violators were caught and fined the word would get out and it might curtail the abuse to some degree. Catch & Release!!

I for one is a catchance and release when it comes to bass. Crappie though I don't take anything out if it's not legal.

The corner store remains closed and as far as anyone knows no one has bought it. As for the Citco Gas and store, that is open. Catch & Release!!
