Boat Cleaning: Getting the gunk off

Post by Curt In Heuvy » Thu Aug 20, 2015 10:13 am

I was just wondering what different ways people clean the gunk off the hull at the end of the year. In the past I have tried to hose down the white aluminum hull on my boat when I was done each time and used purple power at the end of the year. The purple power does an ok job but not a great one for me. I trailer my boat and don’t dock overnight also.

I power wash and then wipe down with MR Clean Magic erasers. This gets off the light brown film that the power washer doesn't.

Starbrite Hull Cleaner about $10 a qt. I bought it at WalMart on Ogdensburg. Great stuff, i believe it has Muriatic Acid in it but very low concentration. Easy and works great. I always applied a coat of car wax on after I cleaned. Check it out on YouTube.
