Re: 2015/16 First Ice
So ----- From what I can see by the light of the day and the two web cams, the lake is frozen!
Nice.
boats11----Jan 04
boats11 is up to bat for choosing January 4th - nailed it! If the lake stays frozen, for 7 days, he will get the prize.

Re: 2015/16 First Ice
Good Morning to the Sun....Just have to report, at 8:23 this AM, looked up the lake, and there was one brave soul out on the ice in front of The Black Lake Bait Store. It's now 8:55 and a second has joined him. I guess the ice is thick enough if your not a defensive lineman. Good luck! Hope the fish are biteing. Ken

Hopefully the ice can withstand the warm up toward the end of the week/weekend. Either way it looks like we are going to get into a longer term cold pattern towards the beginning of next week. I would say by two weeks it should be safe even for machines but it would be nice to not have to start over.

That's one heck of a pressure crack already. I don't think it's breaking up anytime soon. Lots of folks on the ice fishing today.

Hoping the monsoon we are getting will not kill all the ice, I am hoping to get out and do some fishing soon. The good thing is that it looks freezing and ice building weather after this warm air today. My brother is in Minnesota and they got 9" solid ice right now and he is rubbing it in my face lol, need to get out soon.

Yea, I think it will hold - daylight tomorrow AM will tell the story. Shoreline will likely be "iffy" for a while. Yep, some decent ice-building weather in the forecast.

boats11 - your prize is forthcoming. Been a good week since the lake froze over and we are continuing to make ice.

Re: 2015/16 First Ice
Phil,
Couple of questions on the "ice over contest"! Was the actual freezing closer to Jan 5 than Jan 4??? I want at least a second place prize as I thought loooong and hard on this important topic! Do I get a couple of lottery tickets or some perch from you??
Hard Luck Tori
