With above freezing temps on the horizon any educated guesses on when the ice melts away?

I just got back from a 3 day trip up there. There was still 10+ inches of clear ice in the Lonesome Bay area (probably the thickest area of the lake). Shoreline was starting to deteriorate though. With the forecast there is a chance it might not make it through next week. Forecast models show it might get a bit colder again 7-8 days from now. So its a tough call. If we were in an ice out contest I would say March 17. But I could be way off. Wouldn't surprise me if it were 5 days from now or if some ice hangs on till April.

I know you guys are big ice fans but I'm ready for some warm days and boat time. How were your 3 days on the ice Shane?

It was ok. Mostly just caught Pike and small perch. Temperatures made it very pleasant though. Nice to be able to move around freely and fish outside without worrying about the cold or holes freezing up.

Ice looks pretty rotten today - 40s and rain tonight and 50s tomorrow might do it in. Walleyes might running soon.
