Pike Fishing

Post by MrSimon » Wed May 11, 2016 9:16 am

I have a theory that pike have been in a post spawn funk for the past couple weeks. I think the ice went out in early April ... pike probably spawned throughout April and are now recovering.

As the water warms and the green weeds really get going in the bays, the pike fishing should pick up considerably.

As an aside, I saw a giant dead pike floating in the lake last weekend. Who knows why it died, but it was exciting to know that there are such big fish in the lake.

Interesting you say that. I've been seeing quite a few dead pike around this spring. Some just sitting on the bottom.

Ditto, saw 2 last Saturday looking like a horseshoe, floating around.
