My pick is December 22, 2016. Earlier hard ice than last year, but later ice than the year before.

(I've modified my ice prediction algorithm I have been using that led to the error of my submissions in prior years and am confident that I'm now spot-on!)

No need for anyone else to enter--I've got this wrapped up.

Even though yesterday morning there was "Skim Ice" when I awoke, (stayed until 9AM), my pick is for late ice.....Jan. 4th. Ken

My son's birthday is Jan. 7th. My guess if no one has that date. Who can add up the days and when does the contest close?

So are the First Ice Contest guesses closed now?

It's entirely Phil's call when the contest closes, though those entering now or tomorrow or end of this week have a far better chance of being 'on target' for first ice since their guess isn't as far out as some of the rest of our guesses.
