Help with fall pike fishing
Heading up family trip mid September. Bringing grandpa, prob his last trip. We want to catch some pike. In the spring (mid may) we had worst fishing last 10 years at the lake, caught very little. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, need to get some fish in the boat for gramps. Thanks, Ryan.

Re: Help with fall pike fishing
If the weather is still warm, there is a good chance the pike will be really spread out. There are so many good weed beds in the lake the fish could be anywhere.
If it were me, I'd cover LOTS of ground casting all kinds of different baits until I figured out what they want. In-line spinners, spinnerbaits, plastic swim baits, spoons, and even big jigs bounced along the bottom.
I'd focus on large weed beds, but key in on where the weeds start to thin out towards deeper water.
