Countdown to the Bass opener

Post by fishinmagician » Wed Feb 28, 2018 3:45 pm

Hey......sports fans the count down clock is at 15 weeks and ticking. I feel like a 10 year old waiting for Christmas. These few warm days....like today make me crazy, I can't wait.

Can't wait to open up the house! Caught my first 2018 bass last week in NJ. A huge 8" smallmouth  . It was awesome.

Not sure what happened to the PM. Thanks for the offer. I live in Hunterdon County and fish Round Valley, spruce run, merrill creek, and mountain lake.

To be honest I may not even be up there for the opener this year. My wife and I are expecting a baby mid June. I know poor planning on my part but it's to late now. Lol

njmike, have you ever done any downrigging? Looking into that since I now have a deep vee able to mount a downrigger. You mentioned Round Valley, I've seen some youtube videos from there. Have you had any experience with that? Good texting with you.

I did have downriggers on my boat. Fairly easy to use the only thing you have to be really carful with is making sure you keep the ball from snagging the bottom. In other words know the body of water well, have good electronics, and electric downriggers make adjusting the ball up and down way easier than a manual one.
