fishing report 10/9/10 to 10/13/10

9 guys left for Black Lake on Sat. AM, with clear skies and excitement in the air. It was a nice 4 hr drive, with several stops along the way. The scenry was awesome with many trees in full color. We stayed at Pleasant View cabins and it was a pleasont view of the lake. We had 3 cabins, ours had 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, and a kitchen area was first class.
A great screened porch overlooking the lake. All 5 days the weather was sunny and mostly blue skies. No rain and that was good because they have had lots, with the lake up 5 ft according to the locals. Wind some days was alittle strong and coming from different directions. Many islands and in many ways looked like Canada, with a 6 hr less drive. We will be back next year many twice. We caught numerous small perch, several pike in the 20 plus inch area. Both SM and LM were caught, perhaps we caught 10 pike, 20 bass, and 40 crappie. The high water was the big factoring in the fishing. We caught most bass while using spinners, crappie with both worms and mostly minnows in the Indian River.
Lots of cards games and some football. We loved it and thanks to all so help in posting reports. We kept one of the 15 in SM and 20 crappie for a fish fry. All pike were released

Made my first trip to BL, the same time you were up there. Man, is it always that windy?! Almost didn't make it back in on Friday. Fished in coves out of the wind. Fished for Bass. Caught most of our fish on spooks. Looking to go back in the spring, can you recommend the best time to go for Bass. Thanks for any info, Steve
