Pics from six years at Black Lake

Post by MrSimon » Wed Dec 29, 2010 10:58 am

I've been coming up to Black Lake once or twice a year with some buddies for six years now. Sometimes the fishing is amazing. Sometimes it sucks. But we have a great time either way!!

I thought I'd share some of my favorite pics. 99% of the fish in the pics went back in the lake. One or two of the deep hooked pike ended up in the frying pan.

This first set of pics is from our first year at the lake. You can see why we came back!

Some more. This trip was super cold and we didn't catch many fish at all. As you can see in the last pic, we woke up to temps in the low 30s - and it didn't get much warmer throughout the day.

This year was warmer .... with more fish. We also discovered that Black Lake has smallies - lots and lots of them. We didn't snap too many pics of them cause only one guy had a camera - but we caught plenty.

This was a fun year. Decent fishing, but the guys all clicked and had an absolute blast hanging out and trading stories.

God I love fishing camp at B.L. Thanks for sharing. Looks like one hell of a good time. Except, of course, getting hit by a blowgun on the toilet. Looks like the fishing version of our hunting camp!

Awesome pictures, MrSimon! I can't wait for our next trip.

Here are a few more pictures from our trips to Black Lake. I especially like the one of you firing up the propane stove to cook lunch in the boat.
