First time on the ice for the season - we found 3-5" of good ice on the north end (West side, across from Upper Big Bay).
Fishing was a bit slow, we got two keepers and they ate well 8)
I know there have been folks fishing other areas (bays) since December 24th.
Good luck and be safe out there.

Fished MileArm Bay today with a couple of friends. Found 6+" of good hard ice. ATVs were running around.
Bluegills and Crappie were hitting pretty well for some of us.

Here's an ice report, for now. Anywheres from 5 to 8" of ice, depending on the area you are in. There are areas to stay away from, like areas of current and pressure cracks.

Fished above Conger Island today, Crappie were hitting pretty good. I run my wheeler over there from Chapman's - Couple of bad pressure ridges - one from Hague Point to Belle Island and another from Mutt & Jeff Islands to Elwood Point. Be careful out there. I did a bunch of hole punching and found no less than 11" of good ice anywhere I went. :D Nice!

Thanks
Matt

Don't know the ice thickness but I will say it is at least 12" and I've heard the bite is holding well. Still getting Gills, Crappie and Northerns.

Was out at Rollaway yesterday and today. 14" of ice (minimum). Getting on the ice ice yesterday was a challenge. This AM not so bad and this afternoon things were good. The lake is still on the rise as of this afternoon but slowing down. Will likely be falling tomorrow. Ice was "booming" all day - making ice for sure. No snow on the ice - bring your creepers. Good luck.

Read the post right above yours - no change. Stay away from areas of current and pressure ridges. Just look around at where others are going (or not going).

Was out today from 7 to 4. Reaaly slow - got 6 keeper crappies but didn't keep them. :D Lots of ice on the south end, 11" in the narrows to 18 in the remote bays. A few pretty bad pressure ridges. Went out last Sunday for a meal of pike and got just one. :) Typical late season blahs.
