Headed to Black Lake 8/7 for Bass

A few buddies and I will be staying on Black Lake for a week starting this weekend. We will be fishing for bass out of our boat. What is the bass bite like ? Would going to the St. Lawrence be a lot better? Has the alge bloom happened ? What's the water level and color like with the recent rain ? Any help at all would be appreciated as we're from out of town. Catch & release only.
