Fall Trip - First Timer

Post by Mountain » Thu Aug 25, 2022 12:16 pm

I am so excited for our first trip to Black Lake. We will be fishing at the last week of September. Would love to get into some crappie and/or bluegill. I would love any suggestions anyone might have. Were hoping to tempt them with some micro swimbaits, but I imagine live bait (minnows and waxies) are always a good alternative. From what I'm told we should be looking for rock piles and drop-offs, I'm just wondering how much vegetation to expect. Any information is appreciated. Cant wait to get there!

You may have found out on your own as to where to find the crappies in the fall by now. If not one place late in season that is popular is to fish in Fish Creek. I use small crappie jigs with a bobber.
