Thank you PTRIVILINO for the information. Not having a 4 wheeler, was hoping that there was not a problem parking there.
Thanks again !!

Fished from MileArm down to the Narrows today. Good ice with 8" of snow and some slushy areas. I got "sidetracked" into Catfish.
Had a TON of fun!
That's an 8" hole in the ice.

Pike
Hi Tori.
The largest was 34" the shortest in the pics was about 26". We put more than 15 pike back in the lake today, we kept 6 fish between the 4 of us. There were a few bass caught and released as well. Great day.
We use shiners, about 5 or 6". Can't seem to get them any bigger around here. I would prefer to use 8-10", dead or nearly dead shiners for bait.

I seem to do better - catch more and larger pike (next to those I'm fishing with) using "nearly dead or dead" bait. I do not know why, other than I believe the bigger fish are less aggressive in the cold water.Tori wrote:Ptrivilino,
Why would you like to use a dead shiner over a live one??? I could save myself a lot of money with your reply!!
Tori
Went to Silver Lake near Perry NY yesterday and got several pike....28,26 and 19 inches. One bass and just one blue gill. Nice day with the sun out and no wind!

Caught a couple of pike today. Ice is about 11" with 6" of snow and slushy areas on the ice. The snow seems to be "condensing". Traveling was a bit easier than last weekend.
36", 11lbs.

Re: Pike
36", 11lbs. Shiner was not dead. It went back in the lake. The smaller ones are way better eating.Tori wrote:Phil,
The last pike is HUGE! How big is it? Do you eat the pike? Was that on a dead or near dead shiner?
