Well, fishing was rather slow. We managed only a handful of largemouth and one nice crappie. But still had fun, can't wait for June 2015 next trip

It was slow for us as well. One nice crappy and a very healthy looking largemouth, tons of little panfish (I'm fishing with my 7 year old son so we try for an action filled day) but the weather kept us off the lake for most of Saturday. There's a noticeable difference in water temp between the bays and moving water in the creeks (about 7 degrees per my depth finder). A fisherman more skilled than myself could probably use that to their advantage.
One very interesting thing happened on Sunday. It was cold and breezy all morning until around 11:00 or so, then all of a sudden the wind died and the bay we were in was like glass. You could see probably 10-15 different schools of very small sunfish near the surface (bubbles at the surface and you could hear popping noise). Then bass started exploding the surface. All around us. This feeding frenzy probably lasted 15 minutes or so, then ended as quickly as it started.

Re: Any reports?
Last Friday. I had the best crappie day of the year. Caught 25, 17 were keepers. Biggest was a hair under 13". Most were 10"-11". Went back out Saturday and caught another 15 keepers. Sunday I couldn't boat a bass during the dash for cash so we opted to get some filets instead. We caught about 30, 15 were keepers. I use 2 spin shot hooks about 16" apart with a stick weight about 36" below the bottom hook. We cut up power bait green and white plastics and put pieces on the hook tipped with a minnow. PM for spots. I don't like to post spots to the public!

Nice job Erik.... We didn't really try for crappie. We were looking for bass and pike. Sounds like we shoulda targeted the paper mouths
