Crushed some Fall smallies - video
I was up at the lake this past weekend closing up my cottage. I got in about a day or so of fishing in total across the three days.
Weather was beautiful for late October!! Highs in the 60s and water temps in the mid 50s. No rain, but plenty of wind and high clear skies.
I wanted to hunt down some big smallies so I focused on the main lake shoals around Wood Island and Raspberry island. I know everyone fishes there, but for good reason. It holds some big fish.
The fish were very much in a neutral mood so I had to fish deep and slow. It paid off!!!!
Here is the video.

Nice fish. I always feel like I closed up a week to soon.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Re: Crushed some Fall smallies - video
I have a feeling it just keeps getting better through November.
As the water falls from 55 down to around 45 the fish should start to stack up heavily and feed aggressively. If you can find the big schools, it should be fantastic fishing. If you don't find the schools though, it'll just be a cold day on the water.
I'd love to spend two straight weeks at the lake this time of year and put in the effort to find the schools. Supposedly they use the same spots on the lake year after year. Some effort now could pay off down the road.

Great video and an even awesome catch! I'm fairly new to fishing but Im planning on making my own videos while catching some smallmouth bass in my area. I've actually learned a few tricks from your video. Thanks!
