I'm looking at December 17th, myself. I'd like it to be earlier, but :?:

Well, let's see some more "guesses, predictions, etc." for first ice here. It's just around the corner. Let's use the rules from years past if that's OK.
Pick a date that the lake freezes over, from the view of both cams and stays that way for a period of 1 week. If one cam fails, we will look at the other; if both fail we will not have a contest.
Seem OK?

Based on my long range weather forecast model and good use of my intuition and just plain trying to get lucky I will pick January 7, 2013!

:O :( :( That's way too late.

I'm going with 12-17-2012. That will get us on the ice the week of XMAS.

Who's got historical data on this anyways?
