2010 Black Lake Association Contest

Are you interested in winning a kayak or one of the other prizes donated by area businesses? The Black Lake Association is challenging our members to recruit others as new members who also have interest in preserving Black Lake and the watershed.

We are embarking on a 2010 Membership Drive. Any member who recruits a new member is eligible for a prize. This includes new members who recruit additional new members. We challenge you to recruit others who are interested in preserving the lake’s many fine resources. Anyone with an interest in Black Lake, whether you are a property owner at Black Lake or not, is eligible for Association membership.
• First Prize is a Mainstream-Sound 9-foot Kayak that will be awarded to the member who recruits the most new members by the end of the contest. Harriet Bartlett, Board Member and a former President of the Black Lake Association donated this prize.
• Other Prizes will be donated by area businesses. Anyone who recruits “at least one new member” is eligible for a drawing for these prizes. As an example, Bob Jennejohn has donated a handcrafted wooden relief map of Black Lake.
• Your name will be entered in the drawing each time you recruit a new member. The more new members you recruit, the more times your name goes into the drawing. There is a limit of one prize per person. We will notify all winners.
• The contest runs through Labor Day – September 6, 2010.

Annual dues are $20, which is a small amount of money that can make a BIG impact for our lake. If you have not paid your 2010 dues yet, we encourage you to do so. The dues support education, communication and Black Lake-focused initiatives, as well as scientific studies of the lake’s health. This includes enhancing recreation, practicing conservation and promoting a healthy ecosystem in the Black Lake watershed.

A Membership Form is located on our web page www.blacklakeny/lakeassoc . We will publish notes here in the Forum from time to time with an updated list of prizes. We hope you will become as enthusiastic about recruiting new members as you are about spending time at Black Lake.

To join the Black Lake Association go the membership application form found on this website www.blacklakeny/lakeassoc. Make sure you include the name of the member who recruited you, as this enters them in the contest too. If you want to be eligible for the prizes yourself, you must first become a member, as this is a “members only event,” and then you must recruit at least one new member by the end of the contest.

Association officers and board members are not eligible to win.

PRIZES:
Prizes will be limited to one per person.
First Prize goes to the member who recruits the most new members by the end of the contest (9/6/10)
Other Prizes, donated by area merchants, will be included in a drawing for any member who recruits at least one new member. This list will be updated periodically.
